Clearing Space on PC by Cleaning Up One Drive

Note: This will clear some downloaded One Drive files off your computer but they will still be in One Drive.

 

Option 1: Individually Clearing Folders/Files From Local PC

  1. Right Click on the folder you wish to locally remove.
  2. Choose Free up Space.

Option 2: Removing all One Drive Folders From Local PC

  1. Click OneDrive in the system tray at the bottom right hand side of your screen. You may need to click the "caret" (up arrow) near the clock to see it.
  2. Click the "cog" and then settings.

  3. Click "Sync and backup" from the left hand list.
  4. Click advanced settings at the bottom of the screen and scroll until you see a button labeled "Free up disk space."

  5. Click "Free up disk space."
  6. You will be warned that it will reset all sync'd files ton online only. Please press continue.

  7. The computer will take time to delete the local files. You can continue working while this is happening. Wait to work on One Drive files until the process is complete.
